<image:caption>Northside College Prep, Class of 2017 What are you currently up to? I am studying Learning & Organizational Change at Northwestern University and hope to be a consultant. Favorite floChicago Memory: Our debrief discussions at the end of the day. Each day was a whirlwind of events and it was always meaningful to sit down and talk with our cohort about its effect on us. I believe that through these discussions and wrestling with the questions we have, this is where change happens within ourselves. How has floChicago Impacted You: I was able to meet so many people with so many backgrounds….I also learned more about the city I live in, visited places I didn't believe I would have gone to on my own, which deepened my love for Chicago. I saw the brokenness in Chicago, which deepens my desire to serve the city and its people.</image:caption>

<image:caption>High School: Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, Class of 2019 What are you up to? I am a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My major is Agricultural Communications. Where are you headed? In the future, I hope to work for National Geographic and work on opening a nonprofit for minority inclusion in agriculture. What was the most surprising part of floChicago? The most surprising thing was how close you can become to people you've never met before. I always felt that I was the only teenager thinking about topics we've talked about throughout the week. However, floChicago has taught me that there are so many organic, young minds that stay up thinking about these things too…I'm surprised at how much our voices that can make a difference. How has floChicago impacted you? I can't enforce enough how much of a life changing experience floChicago has been. This program gave me the opportunity to get to know myself and accept parts of me that I might've doubted in the past. If I was open minded before, I am 1000 times more open to people, activities, ideas, ways of living, and dreams I had never really considered.</image:caption>

<image:caption>High School: Back of the Yards College Prep High School, Class of 2017 What are you up to? I am majoring in Math and Educational Studies at Trinity College. Where are you headed? Because of the floChicago team, I want to pursue a career in some level of education. I would like to go to graduate school and work as a teacher, at a not for profit or do education policy research. What the floChicago team does is so powerful and I hope to have the same impact in someone's life that they have on me. How has floChicago impacted you? floChicago was incredibly influential and instrumental in who I am today. I found confidence in myself I did not know I had, just by being surrounded by my incredible peers. I give credit to this program for helping me realize that GPA doesn't define you or your leadership ability, but that leaders are defined by their passion and commitments. I am motivated to work hard for the better of those who need it most.</image:caption>

I also work with the Marquette Men's Basketball team directly as a brand manager, graphic designer and content curator. What’s next? I am looking forward to pursuing a career in branding. I hope to contribute innovative initiatives, programs, and opportunities for communities at a local and international level. What is your favorite floChicago memory? My greatest floChicago memory is having all those deep discussions during floWeek, which allowed me to become more open minded and be more open to thinking of solutions to social issues from new perspectives. How has floChicago impacted you? My floChicago experience was incredible. It was a great opportunity to meet people from different parts of Chicago and explore some of the issues our communities are facing and build lifelong friendships by the end of the program. This program was a life-changing experience that gave me the opportunity to think critically about the different issues facing the city of Chicago. It not only exposed me to ways I could make a difference in my community individually, but it also presented unique ways communities could come together to bring about a greater impact.</image:caption>

<image:caption>High School: Christ the King Jesuit College Prep, Class of 2017 What are you up to? I am a student at Morehouse College studying chemistry. I recently had the opportunity to share my lab's research method for studying dorsal heart pumping in insects at conference in Texas. Where are you headed? After attaining a B.S. in Chemistry from Morehouse, I plan to study biomedical engineering at the graduate level. What are your memories of floChicago? It was amazing how quickly my cohort meshed together. That allowed us to have candid conversations about our diverse experiences living in Chicago. My favorite memory is staying up late preparing for the final presentation, presenting, and making friends in the process.</image:caption>

<image:caption>High School: Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, Class of 2017 What is your favorite floChicago memory? From meeting with the Chicago Housing Authority to visiting the Mayor's Office, the program provided me with several meaningful learning experiences. I loved participating in discussions and broadening my perspective on various topics, such as crime, violence and race relations in the city. However, my favorite part of floChicago was the people...friends from all of the city that I never would have had the chance to meet if it wasn't for floChicago. What are you currently up to and where are you headed? I am currently majoring in psychology and minoring in social welfare at Florida State University. After college, I plan on attending law school. I know I want to advocate on behalf of underrepresented individuals. I am considering working as a human rights attorney specifically helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive legal protection. How has floChicago impacted you? If it weren’t for floChicago, I never would’ve made so many amazing friends from backgrounds different than my own….I widened my perspective on so many things and became inspired to give back to my community.</image:caption>
